  • How do I find it?

    Searching for your own unclaimed money can be straightforward or quite complex, depending on the state you are investigating. Typically, government agencies holding unclaimed funds, with the exception of the ACT, do not impose fees for filing a claim. However, they may request documentation to validate your ownership of the funds or your connection to the deceased individual in whose name the funds are registered.

  • Federal Government

    The Federal government’s main body that holds unclaimed funds is called ASIC. Find more info on ASIC here and start searching for your funds through their Moneysmart site.

  • ACT

    The territory government has two websites for finding your unclaimed money. Find more information here and here.

  • NSW

    Unclaimed funds in NSW are held by the Office of State Revenue. Find more information here and make your claim here.

  • QLD

    Unclaimed funds in QLD are held by the Office of State Revenue and can be found here.

  • VIC

    Unclaimed funds in VIC are held by the Office of State Revenue and can be found here. However, for their website to work you will need to remember the address that you had at the time or the website won’t be able to locate your funds.

  • SA

    Unclaimed funds in SA are held by the Office of State Revenue and can be found here. It will show that you have unclaimed money but it will not reveal the amount.

  • WA

    Unclaimed funds in WA are held by the Office of State Revenue and can be found here.

  • TAS & NT

    Unclaimed funds in TAS and NT are held by the Office of State Revenue and can not be found online. You need to write a letter or send an email and ask them to search for you.
